Porch screens done

Last steps were to staple the screens on and put on the trim.  The trim was a bit of a challenge because each frame is different in size and degree of not square they are.  Each one was its own piece of furniture, so there was no standard by which to cut all the pieces.  Still, it was fun.

Here you can see the unfinished doors standing and the finished one on the table.

Or you could just look at the finished product.  We are so pleased with how good they look, especially compared to what was there for so long.  And that we can keep the bugs out at dusk!
Another project complete!

  1. Wow, it looks awesome! I would like a catio (cat patio) build for Maya, maybe you'd like some more practice building screened in porches :-)

  2. That's a great idea for the cat!

  3. I spend too many hours researching them :-). I may just try a Coleman's tent on the deck for the two of us to sit in.

  4. Guess what Dad showed me how to "comment on your site. Wow! those screens came out awesome -- looks like you did a fabulous job stretching the screen. Don't see any wrinkles -- that's tough to do. Wood looks terrific. So proud of you. Love Finns chin rest too. PS. Dad says uneven trim is fun to do. Love, Mom
