Mountain Jam

Three days of amazing music.  It's all still swimming in our heads.  So much to think about, to feel. Highlights were The Allman Brothers Band, Chris Robinson Brotherhood, Bob Weir, The Avett Brothers, Jeff Tweedy (poetic, but a major downer), Government Mule, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Michael Franti and Spearhead,  Valerie June, Anders Osborne.  There was so much more, but these were the best.

Here we are sitting, listening, surrounded by mountains.

We met with friends and took a break from the music on the ski lift up the mountain.

Those tiny dots on the stage are Chris Robinson Brotherhood.  Robinson is the frontman for the Black Crowes.

This is the old-timer Bob Weir with his band.

Gregg Allman, on the screen above, is retiring after 45 years of great music.  He and his brother formed The Allman Brothers Band in Jacksonville, Florida during the late 1960s (as did their friends Lynyrd Skynyrd).  Brother Duane died in 1971 at 24 years old, but Gregg has kept their music alive for a very long time.  In very obvious ways, every show is a tribute to his brother.  Thanks for all the great music, Gregg!
